INSPIRATION
My latest collection was created after my first child was born. While I was kept extremely busy taking care of my new baby boy, I found a real sense of calm in those moments when I was able to focus on my furniture and design.
I found myself seeing the world differently, the awe and wonder of a child seeing and experiencing the world for the first time had a big impact on me. I felt inspired by the shapes, colours and wonders of the Cosmos. The rich shade of blue so evocative of the night sky are contrasted with sunset pinks and sunrise yellows.
The collection aims to combine these elements to deliver four elegant and versatile pieces while staying true to our mission to produce sustainable furniture using environmentally sound products and practices.
Founded in 2018, Tread Softly combines my passion for gorgeous furniture, my commitment to sustainability and my skills as an experienced, qualified artist and designer.
Now an artisan on BBC's Money for Nothing, I create unique, beautiful, guilt free furniture. Each piece is a carefully selected design classic from the last century, reborn as a stunning contemporary piece perfect to grace any home.
Our furniture has a glorious history, is stylish, functional, beautiful, and delivers on our commitment to sustainability using only eco paints, varnishes and finishes.

To own a piece of Tread Softly furniture is to own a unique piece of art, with its own history and design story. Meet my previous HARLEQUIN collection which takes its inspiration from the Venetian masquerade balls of the Renaissance. I opted for a bold, majestic palette, to reference the grandiose and imposing Venetian courts, playfully juxtaposing this with contrasting, geometric patterns reminiscent of the mischievous Harlequin’s decorative costumes.
